Podcast series: West Australian Communities 2025
I started this podcast series to spotlight the rich diversity of community work happening in Western Australia — simply because I was genuinely surprised by how much grassroots energy and activism exists here. Honestly, it feels like there’s more community spirit per square kilometre than in many other places I’ve been. These spontaneous conversations offer a glimpse into what drives West Australians to get involved, and what they hope to change, build, or protect through their efforts.
It’s non-political, not commercial, just for the people like you and me. Maybe it helps others to start their own work!
Podcast #2: Martin Dougiamas, founder of Moodle
Podcast#1: Joanna Randell, best known for her work with the Madjitil Moorna Choir
Podcast series: Synergia People 2023
In 1969 some pioneers from all over the US bought a piece of land close to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Until today it is well-known as Synergia Ranch – a Center for Innovation and Retreats. The Ranch is home to individuals who were the original inventors, creators, designers and managers of the Biosphere 2 project in Oracle, Arizona. Today, these and other residents at the ranch collaborate in ecotechnic and artistic enterprises all over the world and locally, as well as continuing biospheric research and development.
In this podcast serie I shed some light on the people behind these ideas. Listen to all of it right here:
Podcast series: Tankwa Artscape 2023
Tankwa Artscape is a yearly artist in residence program in the Tankwa Karoo, South Africa. It was founded in 2017. 10-12 national and international artists participate every year. It is a two week residency for artists working in the fields of site-responsive sculptural art, spoken word, sound, movement and performance art. It is a unique experience in the desert for the most part using found materials, physical and vocal performance, diving extremely deep into the creative sources.
In 2023 I was there and I interviewed all the participants of the program, including the organizers. Listen to all the podcasts right here:
