Yesterday we managed finally to get seated at Arnauld’s Bar in Santa Teresa. Famous for its Feijoada – Brazil’s national lunch. It was New Years Day … time for something special. I thought;-)
Feijoada – a dark and spicy stew built upon a foundation of black beans and pork and/or beef. It usually just contains pared down pieces of flesh, but it may also contain less familiar porcine treats such as ears, tongues and those cute curly tails – so don’t be surprised. I can tell you it was really a challenge for my stomach to digest – and I tasted just a bit.
My advice: Rather plan on hitting a couch than swimming in the waters off Ipanema after eating it.
