Ingrid Erickson, research fellow at the Social Science Research Council is working on a project called: The Digital Media and Learning in Brooklyn. Same program started in Chicago. It leverages research and design to help New York City and Chicago organizations craft new approaches to youth-centered digital media and learning. Begun in 2008 with funding from the MacArthur Foundation and in partnership with Parsons, the program provides a forum for a select group of institutions, including the Natural History Museum and the New York Public Library, to work together on imagining new practices and products. Eventually we hope to develop a model for networked learning across multiple institutions.
