Houston – Austin – Padre Island

I am very excited about my next trip to the US. It will start this coming Thursday. I will spent 2 days at NASA, an institution which I admire since my childhood.

Yes, I was sitting in front of the TV when the Apollo 11 landed on the moon and Neil Armstrong was jumping around up there:-) On July 20, it will be 40 years since the first human being touched ground on the moon – still amazing to me!

From Houston I will take the Greyhound Bus to Austin and attend SXSW interactive. South by Southwest is a private company based in Austin, Texas. Since 1987, SXSW has produced the internationally recognized Music and Media Conference & Festival. In 1994 as the entertainment business adjusted to issues of future growth and development, SXSW added conferences and festivals for the film industry (SXSW Film) as well as for the blossoming interactive media (SXSW Interactive Festival).

It will be my second time at SXSW and I am looking forward to attend a slightly different “conference” than what we usually have in Europe (besides DLD, picnic, reboot and Ars Electronica).

At the end of my trip I will spent a few days in a lighthouse at Padre Island National Seashore …
