Serious Games: A Preparation for Future Learning Approach

Researchers at Columbia University recently finished a quantitative research study investigating the hypothesis that games may help prime students for formal classwork in subjects related to the systems and processes represented in the game.

One have to notice, that the object of investigation weren`t educational programms but casual games (Civilazation and Sim City).

The results aren`t surprising, but at least we have reliable data.
